Noree Chamber Soloists’ Season Finale celebrates chamber masterworks from three different musical periods. With his Violin Sonata No. 3 in E-flat Major Op. 12, No. 3, Beethoven glanced back to eighteenth-century classicism, creating earnest dialogues of concentrated energy between the violin and the piano. The exuberant Mendelssohn String Octet in E-flat Major is a testimony to young Mendelssohn’s prodigious talent, while Fauré’s Piano Quartet in G Minor demonstrates his mature musical language marked by progressive harmony, lyricism, and thematic cohesion.
