Violin

With playing hailed as “gorgeous, finely detailed...positively ravishing, a marvel of emotional maturity and assurance” (San Francisco Classical Voice), violinist Kenneth Renshaw has appeared as soloist with orchestras throughout the world, including the National Orchestra of Belgium, the Lithuanian National Orchestra, the China Philharmonic, the Jenaer Philharmonie, the Staatskapelle Weimar and the California Symphony. He has performed as a recitalist at the Auditorium du Louvre (Paris), the Menuhin Festival Gstaad (Switzerland), the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festspiele (Germany), and has repeatedly been featured on the national radio stations of many countries. Kenneth won First Prize and various special prizes at the 2012 Yehudi Menuhin International Violin Competition, the 2010 Ludwig Spohr International Violin Competition, and the 2009 Los Angeles Philharmonic competition, and was a Laureate of the prestigious 2015 Queen Elisabeth International Violin Competition of Belgium. A passionate chamber musician, he has collaborated in performances with many esteemed artists, including Leon Fleisher, Shmuel Ashkenasi, Pamela Frank, Cho-Liang Lin, Peter Wiley, Ralph Kirshbaum, Kim Kashkashian, and Sir James Galway. Kenneth was an Evnin Rising Star at the Caramoor Festival and a featured artist at the Ravinia Festival’s Steans Institute, the Perlman Music Program, and the 2013 Kronberg Academy Violin Masterclasses.
 

Kenneth recently completed his Bachelor’s degree from the Juilliard School as a Kovner Fellowship recipient. His principal teachers have been Itzhak Perlman, Li Lin, and Donald Weilerstein. Upcoming performances include recitals at the Clark Arts Center, Honest Brook Music Festival, and appearances at the Verbier Festival Academy (summer 2017) and Marlboro Music Festival (summer 2018).
